Women in Celtic Music - Mick Moloney
Philip Brennan's class will be "View the landscape and naturtal life of the Burren and County Clare through the eyes of an artist"
Travel Potpourri (Wednesday) Tour Ireland - Marie McKown of Tourism Ireland will be joining Irish travel agent Jim Burke
Tea and Talk (Wednesday) Micheal DeMordha of Heritage Sites of Ireland will join us to add another dimension to your Ireland trip
Friday - Additional Friday Sampler lecture 9:00 to 10:30. Muiris O Rochain, founder and director of the famed Willie Clancy School, will talk about the musical heritage of County Clare. He says his school was founded in 1973 is known worldwide as the forerunner of all traditional music summer schools. In 2006, the school had students from 41 countries and a tutor/lecturer staff of 300!
The campus of the Irish Fest Summer School is located within the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. It is there that you will be able to take classes in music and song from the musicians who perform at Irish Fest, learn Irish dancing (both social and competition level), or wrap your tongue around Gaeilge, the Irish language.
