Folk Music at Weatherbury Farm: Weekend Beginning Mountain Dulcimer Workshop with Bill Schilling

Our major concerns in this course will be melody playing along with drones as well as playing chord backup. We will work with DAA and DAD tunings and find out how these can work together. We will also try DAC tuning to find out about playing in minor modes. Tuning tips and helpful hints will be covered. We will use tab and written music and play by ear. As time allows, students will hear and may try harmony playing techniques and melody chord style playing. Some loaner mountain dulcimers will be available.
