Folk Music at Weatherbury Farm: Weekend Beginning Autoharp Workshop with Bill Schilling

This course will center on becoming comfortable with your autoharp from finding the best position for holding your autoharp to becoming acquainted with your chord bar setup (and maybe learning if another setup can easily be done which will work better for you) to learning left hand techniques so that you will not have to look at your chord bars to learning various strum and picking patterns. We will mostly work on accompaniment styles for playing with your own singing, with the singing of others, or with other melody instruments, but we will also try some melody playing with the melody strum and be exposed to other melody playing styles. Written music with chords and melody chords will be available, but we will also work on playing by ear. Tuning and instrument care techniques will be covered. Some loaner autoharps will be available
