Folk Music at Weatherbury Farm: Weekend Advanced Beginning/ Intermediate Hammered Dulcimer with Tina Bergmann

: Using a variety of common and unusual tunes, we will explore ways to use the learning potential in each piece of music to it's fullest. Some of the things we'll discuss and explore are: concepts that make learning, memorization, and performance smoother and easier, straight-forward ways of fleshing out tunes, as well as the effects that hammering patterns, striking techniques and dynamics can have on your sound. We'll work both by written music and by ear, depending on the needs of the students. This workshop will provide some insight into fundamental techniques that can help every player begin to move past "just playing tunes" and into playing music. Come prepared with a tape recorder and your sense of fun for this weekend of music.
