Bluegrass Music Camp for Youth
Building on the success and popularity of last year’s first PineCone Bluegrass Camps, PineCone and the Town of Cary are partnering again this coming summer to offer the camps for a second year!
Write and learn songs and techniques of one of North Carolina’s most popular homegrown musical styles: Bluegrass! Taught by veteran musicians Charles Pettee, Pattie Hopkins, and Lynda Dawson, this camp will build and develop musical skills while encouraging confidence, creativity, and collaboration.
Each class is limited to 12 students between the ages of 8 and 16. All classes will be held at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Each weeklong session includes 5 classes and costs $93 for Cary residents and $121 for nonresidents. Instrument rental is NOT included. R
PineCone members who live outside of Cary should contact Theresa Dolan, who can be reached weekdays between 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at 919-460-4963. PineCone members can sign up over the phone, through the mail or in person at Page-Walker. Theresa can guide you through the process. We are excited to continue this program to help the next generation learn about the musical roots of their home state, and we look forward to your feedback!
