Matt Wyatt grew up listening to fiddling and developed a love and respect for music at a young age. Fiddling goes back generations on both sides of his family and there was always music at family get-togethers. Matt learned directly from some of Missouri's most influential fiddlers like Pete McMahan, Gene Goforth, Taylor McBaine, and others. He has played for hundreds of square dances and been an instructor at numerous fiddle camps and workshops. Matt has won state fiddle contest titles in five states including Missouri and has been a judge at contests around the country. This workshop will focus on tunes and techniques Matt learned directly from Missouri’s most influential fiddlers: Gene Goforth, Pete McMahon, and Taylor McBaine.

Please note: Fred Stoneking was originally scheduled to teach this workshop. However, Fred is unable to attend due to an illness. Matt Wyatt will be conducting the workshop instead.

This program is made possible with support from the Missouri Arts Council.

Workshop fee is $35.00
