You already know a little bit about how your voice works. You have some things you'd like to improve (power, range, etc.) but you don't want to lose your unique sound. Somatic Voicework(tm) is a cutting edge vocal technique specifically designed for singers of contemporary music like pop, folk and blues. It is a body-based method of vocal training which draws from many disciplines including classical singing, voice science and medicine, as well as movement and bodywork. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn some practical skills to:

- improve your breath support

- warm up your voice and keep it healthy on the road

- increase your power and range, and smooth out breaks

- maintain good vocal technique while accompanying yourself

Bring your songs, instrument if you accompany yourself, and any technical issues you have with your repertoire. We will spend the first part of the workshop on group vocal work, and there will be an opportunity (optional) for individual coaching during the second part of the afternoon.
