The didjeridu is a traditional Aboriginal instrument used in rituals, dances
and ceremonies. Many people think that there is a healing quality to the low
frequency sounds that it produces. In this workshop Michael will teach you
playing techniques for beginners as well as intermediate level students.
You'll learn how to create a sound, get an introduction to circular breathing
techniques, and explore vocalizations and rhythms. Michael Stanwood is a
five time winner of the Best of Westword award. He performs with two
groups Yeabut Shoehead, and the Buzz Band, and has released a CD
entitled "Arc of a Buzz". If you own a didjeridu bring it, otherwise, Michael
will provide instruments for you to use.
