Intro to Travis Picking

Travis picking is THE fundamental fingerpicking style upon which most guitar
fingerpicking is based. It was created by Merle Travis and is used by a
whole host of artists in the folk and singer-songwriter genres. Aside from it's
ubiquitous nature, it's a valuable skill because it teaches you to separate
the rhythmic function of the thumb from the melodic function of the fingers.
In this workshop, Vicki Taylor will introduce you to the style and teach you a few
classic songs that use it.
