Pete Wernick's Winter Banjo Camps in Boulder: Intermediates, Jan 9-14, 2012
January 9-14, 2012
Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5:30pm, with Wednesday and Thursday half days
For pickers who can create and play a basic solo, and have jamming experience.
Intermediate camp qualifications are:
* Ability to jam informally including faking simple solos and following chord changes smoothly with F-shape chopped chords.
* Ability to create on your own and correctly execute, in time, a simple melody-based 3-finger Scruggs-style solo for a typical bluegrass song.
Important note: If you don't have BOTH of the above skills, you are not qualified for Intermediate Banjo camp. This is true even if you can correctly play many arrangements learned from tablature, have been taking lessons for years, etc. The qualifying skills are fundamental to knowing bluegrass banjo style. Those lacking either of these skills are recommended to Basic Skills Banjo Camp or any Bluegrass Jam Camp. Speed of playing is not a qualification. If you play slowly, that's OK. You will learn to play faster.
