Vinny Ray

Being 47 and a professional musician since I was 11, there is far too much to write about in the space provided here.

So a brief overview.

I came from a musical hillbilly family out in North West Arkansas.
I began playing mandolin when I was 8 and switched to fiddle when I was 9. I was a novelty on the fiddle. When I was 11 I began playing the Country Music Theater Shows out in Branson.

After playing in Branson I toured with various Bluegrass groups out in Florida. This eventually led to my own Fiddling show which toured the Bluegrass circuit in Florida, Georgia, Carolinas area.

I did well in the fiddling competitions and have won more than a dozen State Fiddling Championships throughout the south and mid west over the years. I have won countless local contest on fiddle, mandolin, banjo.

I spent many years on the west coast touring with my own group.
This group played my original compositions which were jazz/funk instrumental tunes. I played 5-string electric violin and 5-string electric mandolin.

Most recently I have relocated back to Washington, Missouri.

I have just began to look for a good Bluegrass band to perform with.
