I have been a visual artist all my life but I have always enjoyed music and wished I could play. Three years ago I was encouraged by a professor at Sheridan College in Oakville to go and buy a damn banjo already and so I did. Since then I practice at least three hours a day (I even drag my banjo into work with me everyday so I can practice on lunch). I am trying to learn music theory and to apply what I learned on both the Banjo and guitar although Banjo is my first love.

My goal is to be able to sit down and play anything with anyone, but I need to build up a lot of confidence and skills before I attain that goal! My husband is an excellent musician (although he doesn’t really believe it)and he encourages me and keeps me from getting ahead of myself at the same time which is not easy. Every once and a while when we are playing together it clicks and sounds great (at least to me) and I love that feeling and want MORE!
