Hello to all. Just wanted to introduce myself:

I am a senior citizen amateur musician and I use the term musician carefully. Better to say I love acoustical instruments, have collected a few and play a little. My two favorites are my mountain dulcimer and my autoharps. I also aspire to learn my mandolin and relearn the violin/fiddle depending on your musical society persuasion. I'd like to devote some time to learning my hammered dulcimer too. I think I'd like to buy a concertina but I should probably save up some money and I'm not so sure of the economy so we'll see. I probably play my autoharp differently than others although I haven't been around many other amateur autoharpists so I'm not too sure of that. On the other hand maybe lots of people play like I do. But the best thing to say about music and me is that I do love playing and listening to it. My biggest problem in my musical life (notice the distinction musical life) is that I don't have and know many other people to play music with. There is a really wonderful group I could jam with but it meets on Thursday nights which conflicts with a more important part of my life so I can't take advantage of that group except on rare occasions. However, I am keeping my censors on and looking and hoping for opportunities to meet and jam with others of like musical bends and I continue to play whenever I can.
