Biography
Originally a West Virginia native, I moved to Kansas City a few years back. I started playing guitar when I was eight and took formal lessons at Marshall University for a short period. I picked up the banjo when I was 15 and haven't slowed down since. I am now age 25, and just recently started playing mandolin and really enjoy it. I treat my music very seriously as I am aspiring to go pro sometime in the future. I also have an extensive body of work in classical composition, some of it for guitar and some for orchestra. I am looking for serious jammers/players in the Greater Kansas City Area. I would like to start a good group comprised of members who are not afraid to explore different concepts in bluegrass or newgrass performance. I play banjo, mandolin, and guitar all at intermediate/advanced level, so I can fill whichever roll is needed in a propective band. However, I would prefer to play banjo as it is my strongest instrument by a slight margin. Basically, bluegrass and the preservation and innovation of bluegrass means a great deal to me. I am also currently a student at Longview Community College. I hold an Associate in Arts from there, but I am going back this Fall to get another associate's in computer technology. I am looking forward to the many jams that the Kansas City area has to offer. I hope to meet new people and make new friends in the bluegrass community.
