Biography
I am an office administrator, singer and player of flute, guitar, piano, pennywhistle and a novice hammer dulcimer player. As a 2nd soprano in the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and The Bach Chorale, I mostly perform baroque and classical music. I also love to play folk music; especially Celtic. As a member of a French and Indian War re-enactment group, the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment Graham's Co., I often play Celtic tunes on whistle for the passersby at our events. (It sure beats hanging your head over an open fire while cooking in 95 degree heat.)
I was born on the West Coast (Palo Alto, CA), raised on the East Coast (Boston, MA) and dragged to the Middle Coast (West Michigan) in 1990 by the then new husband. I am of Scottish, Welsh and German descent as is he. He says, "That makes us cheap in a war-like manner." True enough, we can make a penny squeal. We have two fabulous cats "Leo" & "RT" who run the household of our 105 year old home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We both enjoy travel and discovering places and cultures new to us. Invariably, that includes the discovery of music particular to the region visited whether its Acadian music from Nova Scotia, zither music of Salzburg, Austria or Bandoneon music of Argentina (on the yet to visit list). Although not a musician himself, my husband, Eric, is a good listener and will gladly hang out at the jam sessions.
Hope to see you there!
