Biography
I started playing the guitar when I was 15 when I realized that girls liked guitar players better than trumpet players. I have always enjoyed acoustic instruments the most and only owned an electric guitar for a few months when I was 17. In 2001, a friend of mine at college invited me to his hometown, Winfield, KS for the annual bluegrass festival. I have been hooked on various acoustic music stylings that a person will hear at this festival ever since. I like anything from progressive bluegrass (newgrass), rockabilly, old-timey, folk, celtic, and jam grass.
Over the past two years, I have put my guitar down and have been working solely on becoming an intermediate mandolin player with hopes of being a great one someday. Well, the way to get better, besides lots of practice, is to play with other people and learn from them. I believe this makes a musician well rounded and better in the long run. If anyone wants to get together to jam, regardless of what instrument you play, shoot me an e-mail.
