This Saturday, Oct. 11th, Mike & Amy Finders (of Finders & Youngberg) will be performing at The Rock 'n' Soul Cafe in Boulder, CO. It shall be a TRIO show with Ashleigh Caudill on stand-up bass. She really rocks, and has lots of stage jokes. Call or stop by the Cafe to purchase tickets in advance, 5290 Arapahoe Ave, (303) 443-5108. Hope to see you there! Since we are newish to The Front Range of CO, and you might not know who the heck we are, here is a quote from someone who has contributed to Bluegrass Now magazine. Does anyone know of a good web site to gather information on the history of a tune, or to verify if a tune is in the public domain? Submitted by cabbagetaco on Thu, 2008/09/04 - 3:49pm.

Thanks! The folkjam forum hooked me up with Joshua Reilly at Got Wine & Cigars in Dunedin, FL. http://www.gotwineonline.com/ I had a great time at their Tuesday Night OPEN MIC! John & Rose have a great set up and fine staff. The equipment was good and the people fantastic, warm and welcoming. Don't be deceived by the small store front off Main street, they have a wonderful set up out back. This is easily one of the friendliest and fun venues you're going to come across. I am really interested in jams in my area. I play with a group that plays for nursing and senior centers. But occasionally I would like to just met and play and not have to drive 100's of miles. It seems all our playing in Arkansas is located in the ozarks. We down in the gulf coastal plains like to jam too. Submitted by Fidddle Dee Dee on Mon, 2008/08/25 - 8:32pm.

My husband (who is not a skilled banjo player) recently purchased a 1920's four string banjo. While it had an okay sound, it played horribly off key and so on my advice he got new strings for it. He had to choose between a heavy and a light string and I suggested the lighter strings. Submitted by nita on Sat, 2008/07/19 - 4:16pm.

I try to make this one when I can. Hope to make it for and hour or so on April 12th. Does anyone know the name of the man on the fiddle last month. I had to leave before talking with him. He was awesome. The mood of the room really seemed to change when he joined in that afternoon. Harris "Lips" Deutsch Submitted by nearlynormal on Thu, 2008/04/10 - 10:46am.

I just saw a reference to this flow by on the fiddle-l and thought it was a great idea. It is a palm OS program that will play ABC tunes and show notation. If you already carry a phone such as the Treo, this is an interesting way to carry along a tune database so that you can keep track of how tunes start. http://www.palmabc.ganderband.com/ Scott Submitted by scott.mclewin on Wed, 2008/04/09 - 4:55pm.
