This is an acoustic Old Time music session including fiddle, banjo, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, bass, guitar and other instruments complementing Southern Appalachian Old Time music styles. The format is informal, with players sitting in a circle takings turns leading tunes. 1st Friday: A and D tunes, 3rd Friday: G and D tunes. Set up and discussions start at 6:30 PM.

Three Rules of the Ducks on the Millpond:

#1 - WE EXCLUSIVELY PLAY OLD TIME MUSIC - no bluegrass, jazz, 60s folk, pop, etc.
(For a good definition of Old Time music, see http://www.mikeseeger.info/music.html)

#2 - INNER CIRCLE SEATING IS RESERVED FOR MELODY PLAYERS - 1ST COME, 1ST SERVED.
STRUMMERS TO THE BACK, PLEASE.
(The melody players have to hear each other.)

#3 - RESPECT THE TEMPO SELECTION OF THE PLAYER LEADING THE TUNE.
(Do not speed up or slow down a tune. You can play the same tune at different tempo when it is your turn.)

See you "on the pond!" --- Quack! Quack!
