The Monthly Slow Jam is sponsored by the Charlotte Folk Society (http://www.folksociety.org/) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Generally we meet on the Second Friday of each month (Exceptions July and December). Lasting a little over an hour, it follows the monthly concert and is a great place for new players to get comfortable playing with and backing up old time fiddle tunes.

We play a rotating list of tunes, with each month featuring a different key, for example January of 2012 featured tunes in the key of A. By keeping the list short and consistant, if one practices these tunes they know they will get to play them when they come to the jam!

The music, mp3s, and midis are all available on the Slow Jam website, and we would love to have you stop in.

The concerts are usually fabulous and are "pass the hat". Or if you had to work late that day, just come for the jam!

We meet at the Great Aunt Stella Center (http://greatauntstellacenter.org/)located at 926 Elizabeth Avenue • Charlotte, NC 28204.

Drop in a join us!

Ed
