Jams
Folk School jams are a great way to spend a weekend afternoon. Musicians of all skill levels come together to play and enjoy music. Regularly scheduled jams include old time, bluegrass, and jug band. Plus, a monthly old-time "slow jam" is designed for learners. Jams are free and open to the public. Participants take turns leading songs and choosing tunes. These informal gatherings are a great way to get back to the basics and simply enjoy playing. Join in!
Old-time and bluegrass jams: first and third Saturdays the month, noon-3pm
Jug band jam: third Sunday of most months
Old-time slow jam: second Sunday of most months
See the events calendar on the home page for scheduled jams.
Sometimes there are Potlucks and parties also. The Folk School is a Non-Profit organization to help anyone learn an instrument at affordable prices for lessons. A lot of the people that learn here, get into bands through here, and teach.
