Open Acoustic Jam and Workshops - everyone/all levels welcome and beginners especially welcome - the Pioneer Settlement occupies approximately 30 acres and folks are welcome to jam with friends (old and new) throughout the grounds - there are usually multiple jams going on at any one time. Light food service (typically hotdogs, hamburgers, and drinks) is available on jam days. Settlement admission charges are $6/each Adults, $4/each Children ages 6-12, and Free for children under 5. No other charges (except for food) and you're welcome to stay all day and enjoy the animals, the historical buildings, the music, etc.
Workshops are all offered at no charge and are given in the air-conditioned "Old Schoolhouse" building - at times there will be a contra- or other dance from 3pm-5pm in the auditorium (also with A/C) when we have a caller and a dance band. If we don't have a dance then we have a big open jam in the auditorium as soon as the auditorium becomes available, often from about 1pm on

Typical workshop offerings (they vary from month to month)may include Old Time/Clawhammer Banjo, Fiddle (beginning to advanced levels, sometimes with 1 on 1 instruction from a state fiddle champion), Guitar (Beginning, Intermediate, Bottleneck Slide, Fingerpicking, etc.), Bodhran, Washboard, Mountain Dulcimer, Songwriting, Singing, Upright Bass, Percussion, etc. Workshop offerings usually begin at 10am
