The Living Tradition offers free, monthly jam sessions that allow musicians and singers to learn, practice, and enjoy traditional music in a relaxed setting. The jams take place before the optional potluck and contra dance.
Participants play a wide array of acoustic instruments. Jams feature a round-robin style, and players choose a variety of traditional folk tunes, mostly from the Fiddlers’ Fake Book (by David Brody) and the Portland Collection (by Susan Songer). Open to all ages and levels of experience. We begin with a slow jam and move along to a faster jam pace. Come join us! The location is convenient to the 5, 91 and 57 freeways. Parking is next to the building.
