On Sunday, November 23rd at 4 p.m., Temple Emanuel in Reisterstown will be hosting Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys (www.KlezmerMountainBoys.com), a unique blend of klezmer and bluegrass that has had concert-goers dancing in the aisles. See website www.templeemanuelofbaltimore.org for additional details regarding this concert and Community Jam. Free wine/beverage and cheese will be served at the reception following the concert, with an opportunity to meet and greet the band.
If you know bluegrass, you might know the names Barry Mitterhoff and Kenny Kosek. Barry Mitterhoff was a member of the 1980's groundbreaking band Tony Trischka and Skyline, and has played with Jorma Kaukonen and John Gorka. Kenny Kosek has appeared with Jerry Garcia, John Denver, and James Taylor among others, and can currently be seen in the toe-tapping Viagra commercial. Both of these exceptional musicians are now part of Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys. We're sure that your the members of folkjam would jump at the opportunity to attend and participate in this rollicking event. It's a unique chance to jam with professionals (local banjo master Mike Munford and local Grammy winner Steve Mandell will attend) and have a great time doing so! Tickets range from $15 - $36. Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Additional information can be obtained by calling Linda at 410-521-7461 or by e-mail to TEconcerttix@gmail.com.
