This gathering is an outcome of a series of house jams that outgrew our houses! Come and share your favorite tunes with other musicians who play fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, accordion, flute, whistle, hammered dulcimer, spoons, jaws harp and other acoustic instruments. (no solo singers or drum sets, please)
We'll use an "around the circle" system to play a variety of old-time fiddle tunes: reels, jigs, two-steps, hornpipes, polkas, rags, airs & waltzes. New England Square dance & Contradance tunes, French Canadian, Irish, Scottish, Old Timey, Swedish tunes are some of the styles played.
Musicians of all skill levels and experience are encouraged to attend. Keep in mind that this is a sharing of music and an opportunity to play with and meet other musicians, not an open mike. Bring your friends. Anyone is welcome to come and just listen!
