Folk Music Cafe @Mountainside Library
Calling all Folk Singer/Songwriters/Musicians
Come and share your songs, and songs in progress, with a group of supportive singer-songwriters at our Folk Music Café song every 3rd Thursday from 7:00 to 8:45 PM at the Mountainside Library Community Room. Opening nite is October 16th, 2008 and starts with a set by Spook Handy and friends.
After the performer slot, we’ll have a round-robin in the small room and take turns playing completed songs, songs-in-the-making or innovative covers. You’ll have the option to invite feedback, ideas and comments or just take the opportunity to road test your songs.
All styles and acoustic instruments are invited. You can also take advantage of a good piano in the room and no amplification is needed.
Selected participants will be chosen to perform as the featured performer at the beginning of a future Folk Music Café date. After the ‘song-share’, the evening concludes with an informal jam session.
To submit a sample to be considered as a performer, please write to folkmusiccafe@yahoo.com. To sign up as a participant in the song-share, please send us an email also so we can plan accordingly.
