Working out a time/place
|
And to begin a process of working out a time/place. In prior discussions meeting in Lincoln made sense to me, at least as a first place. I tend to be fairly free on weekends, more so with afternoons than mornings, although this varies with what my son (just turning 16) needs to do, and my wife who has occasional dog trials. I am free on both Saturday & Sunday afternoon this weekend (2-5?). Some week nights would be fine, too. I'm at a jam 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, and Tuesdays I tend to have other meetings. Once it starts up again I like to make it over to Moweaqua every few weeks for an open mic on Friday. Submitted by vrteach on Fri, 2008/03/28 - 10:44am

This weekend is out for me as my son's wedding is on Sunday in Bloomington, so I will be busy Saturday and Sunday. Next Saturday would work well for me though.
Sundays are off and on as it is often my husband's only day home. But some weeks it would be fine. He has said, if he's home and if he'd be welcome, he might sit in sometime with his guitar or banjo. He's good at playing slow to moderate. :-)
My schedule is rather flexible most of the time as I'm a homemaker. I should be able to accommodate your schedules.

Greyhound rescue, how wonderful! They are beautiful dogs.
My address is:
54 Gavin St. in Lincoln
Mapquest will have you take I-74 to Bloomington and I-55 to Lincoln. My husband sometimes has to do seminars in Champaign and usually goes back and forth using Hwy.10 through Clinton. He has used both routes, so, if you'd like, I will ask him which is quicker. If you end up wishing to come via 10, I'll send you directions to the house for when you get to Lincoln.
Erich, you are sort of the leader of this group - what songs do you wish to work on? Also, are we wanting Old Time or Bluegrass or songs that are commonly played in either genre? In one of my last posts/emails I mentioned Liberty, Old Joe Clark, Soldier's Joy and 'Liza Jane. The Westphalia Waltz is also nice.

Oh that's right, you told me about the wedding (congrats). Go ahead and suggest some times. This Tuesday I will be wanting to go to the new Celtic session that is just starting in Springfield, not that I can do much Celtic stuff.

Actually, next Saturday (the 5th) looks OK to me. The weekend after I'm at a couple of workshops in Monee.

My suggestion about enabling the email stemmed from previous experience, but I take it back now. It doesn't quite work as I expected. I'm not sure if I'll keep mine on or not.
I'll respond about tunes under the "repertory" post.
