Autoharp players within commuting distance and visitors alike are welcome to join the DOWNEY AUTOHARP CIRCLE. We meet weekly on Thursdays or Fridays at 11:00 am for 2 hours to jam and learn new tunes and then usually enjoy each others company for lunch at a local restaurant. On the 2nd Friday of the month we follow up at Mambo Grill in Downey for lunch and an all-inclusive jam until 5:00pm. Enough music for one day?
We are all quite new at this and are following the "Mel Bay's Method for Autoharp or Chromaharp" book. This was just started October 2011. We also
review our favorite Christmas tunes regularly.
When possible, we enjoy hiring visiting talent or
'way above us' local talent for workshops.
