Jersey Jam 58 -- Saturday, September 18th.
Jersey Jam 58! SATURDAY, September 18, 2010, at my house in central NJ.
10am - lunchtime (typically 3 or 4 hours) with our now legendary pizza finale'.
If the weather is nice we may move out to Roosevelt Park. It may be our last chance for park weather.
It's NOT a formal open event in a public venue, it's just me inviting some folks to my home, as a way of making new musical friends. We have a small group of regulars and new folks stopping by from time to time. Most of us play guitar, though other acoustic instruments are welcome. We're usually willing to try all styles of popular music, and while we always want the jam to be beginner friendly, we're happy to have more experienced players sit in and inspire us.
This is an informal, casual get-together, hanging around in the basement making music, and we chip in for pizza at the end.
No pressure, and ABSOLUTELY NO "I'm not good enough" excuses.
You just need an instrument and a song in your heart. And a music stand is
helpful.

Forecast is looking good, so I'm hoping to take the jam out to the park tomorrow.

Can't make the 18th. Party for my nephew who's, gulp, going into the Marines. It was his older brother who had the audacity to get married during the August jam. Oh well.
On the other hand, we went to a friend's annual pigroast down in central Jersey this weekend; just a hundred-or-so close friends in their NFL-size backyard! Celtic fiddler Allan reports that, hey, the rock stuff was actually a bit of fun and he may well show up again!

Didn't you post a message saying that the only day you couldn't make it was the 11th?!
If you don't show up on the 18th, you're losing your special reserved parking space and you WON'T be getting your official JJ tattoo! Hrmph!

Yes, originally the 11th was the only day I couldn't make it; unfortunatly, the plans changed last minute, and now we'll be traveling home on the 18th. :-( :-(
PS - I'm driving my 80-year old mom to NC because she was going to do the trip with her 90-year old friend ALONE!! I figured I'd be the "good daughter" and do the driving.
Can I get my official JJ tattoo next time?
