We are a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the state of Indiana for the charitable and educational purposes of promoting, perpetuating, and supporting traditional American Music. Meetings are on the second Sunday of every month, from 1:00-5:00 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, at 52nd and Central Ave, Indianapolis. Meeting Format:

1st hour: 1:00 to 2:00 Board meeting
Open Jam Session as well as a Slow Jam
2nd hour: 2:00 to 3:00 Performance Hour by Society members
Each month a different "theme" is suggested.
3rd hour: 3:00 to 4:00 Workshops and Big Band Practice
4th hour: 4:00 to 5:00 Sharing Circle
Members and guests form a circle and
share songs and anecdotes.

All instruments and their owners are welcome! Our members play many different instruments including mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, guitars, mandolins, banjos, autoharps and even washboards. Even if you don't play an instrument, and just enjoy folk music and comaraderie, please feel free to join us. We also have contact people who can help get you started if you have been thinking of taking up an instrument.

For more information, check out our website, http://www.indianafolkmusic.org/, where you will find a list of officers who can answer your questions.
