Fiddle or violin level intermediate and beyond
Description: Matt will teach a waltz and a reel in the style of the great Cajun musician Dewey Balfa. This hypnotic style comes from French Louisiana and has a passionate following around the world. Students should be willing to learn by ear and are particularly welcome if they are new to Cajun music

Workshop fee: $40.00

Matt Brown is a versatile musician comfortable in a variety of fiddle styles including old-time, bluegrass, and Cajun. He has taught at The Swannanoa Gathering and Ashokan, and he is the fiddle instructor at this year’s Colorado Suzuki Institute. Matt has performed with many great artists including David Holt, Alice Gerrard, Paul Brown, Beverly Smith, Tim O’Brien, The Wilders, and Uncle Earl. Matt is a producer, studio musician, and partner in record label 5-String Productions.
