PinAddNameDescription
Repeating jam sessionAdd newRepeating jam sessionA jam session that happens on a regular schedule, such as every Tuesday, every second Sunday or the 3rd Friday of each month. We work out the dates for you based on the repeat settings.
Single session jamAdd newSingle session jamA jam session or gathering on a set date (or over a few days). You pick a date for your jam.
FestivalAdd newFestivalAn acoustic music festival. Many festivals have lots of jamming going on formally and informally.
Workshop/CampAdd newWorkshop/CampAn acoustic music workshop or camp where you can hone your skills, meet other musicians and play music.
GroupAdd newGroupStart a group to organize a jam in your town, or just to attract other musicians to get together occasionally to play. Each group has a private forum and event map. Groups can be public or private, and you can decide whether anybody can join or require folks to request membership.
Jam within a groupJam within a groupJams that are posted within a group can show up on the main maps. When they do, not all of the details are available unless you join the group. This is a good way to promote your jams but protect the details of the jam (such as your home address) from folks who are not part of your group.
Site sponsorSite sponsorLocal busineses can advertise in their community on folkjam. These pins are paid-for promotion by these businesses. Do you want your acoustic music shop to display? Contact us for details.
Workshop seriesAdd newWorkshop seriesA workshop that takes place on a regular schedule, such as every Tuesday night.
PerformanceAdd newPerformancePerformances where there is likely very little jamming, but plenty of good music to listen to. While our focus is on making music social, every now and then your fingers are too tired to play and you just want to listen.
