Celebrate Samhain is an all-ages celebration of the final harvest and ancestors past – filled with magic, music, crafts, and merriment. Be entranced by the bewitching music of a gypsy troupe; browse the wares of mystical vendors; learn something new in a variety of free talks and workshops; make and take home your own magical crafts; enlist a reading by a gifted intuitive; drum, dance, or sit and be enchanted by Druid storytelling; and observe the ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain in a traditional, earth-centered ceremony that honors those who have gone on before...

We play a mix of traditional music from French Canadian or Appalachian reels to Swedish Hambos or new folky waltzes. Mostly the group plays from simple written music (mostly in D, G, A, at a moderate speed) using Bill Mathieson's Waltz Book, the Portland Collection, Peter Barnes English Country Dance book, etc. Meets from about 7 to 9:30 on Sundays at Goff Hall (Public Library) in Rehoboth, MA. Second Sundays are often a potluck at 6pm followed by a free dance... Recently an Early Music dance group has been preceding the jammers at about 4pm. Fully active as of 6/2009
