Welcome to the Kansas City Irish Traditional Music Seisiúns group.

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, this group is for those who play Irish Traditional Music, and those who love to listen to Irish Traditional Music (ITM). There are a number of Irish/Celtic sessions in the Kansas City area. Our weekly seisiun on Saturday is in the afternoon, and is currently TBA. If you are interested in playing, or attending, you can contact me at (913)645-1654.
The focus of our seisiún is Irish traditional music (which includes traditional music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Galicia, and music of the Irish diaspora in Canada: Cape Breton, Newfoundland, etc.). Traditional songs are welcome at our session (Sean Nós and accompanied).
Typical instruments at the session include fiddle, flute, tin whistle, accordion, mandolin, mando-bass, Irish bouzouki, cittern, bodhrán, bones, and guitar. Any of the following are welcome additional instruments: uilleann pipes, Scottish small pipes, anglo concertina, and tenor banjo.
We have from four to ten players (depending on the week, and time of year). It is always a very friendly group of seasoned musicians. If you are a seasoned ITM player yourself and looking for a great session, come play some tumes with us!
