Regular jam details here
Since having my first child in late 2004 I've found it hard to get out in the evenings to jams. Now that I have a second child (both little ladies) leaving my wife home with two very young children is simply not fair.
For a while I've thought that getting a morning jam going would be a grand idea - one where families are welcome. With my friend Shawn's help we gotten a session going at a local coffee house that is in the back of a fairly new church. It is well appointed and has a large play area with a door and windows between the coffee shop area and the play area. It is ideal for being able to monitor kids through the window, refreshments are available and the environment is welcoming. The coffee house has welcomed us to come play there.
The jam is open to any acoustic instruments and leans towards old time tunes, but we welcome Bluegrass break-passing style too, it just depends on who calls out the tune.
We have a core of 8-15 people who have been coming regularly since the spring of '07 when we started.
