Jersey Jam 28
Jersey Jam 28, Saturday, March 15th, 2008 at my house in central NJ.
10am - lunchtime (typically 3 or 4 hours) with our now legendary pizza finale'.
It's NOT a formal open event in a public venue, it's just me inviting some folks to my home, as a way of making new musical friends. We have a small group of regulars and new folks stopping by from time to time. Most of us play guitar, though other acoustic instruments are welcome. We're usually willing to try all styles of popular music, and while still consider ourselves beginners and want the jam to be beginner friendly, we're happy to have more experienced players sit in and inspire us.
This is an informal, beginners-level, casual get-together, hanging around in the basement making music.
No pressure, and ABSOLUTELY NO "I'm not good enough" excuses.
You just need an instrument and a song in your heart. And a music stand is helpful.
As we'll be approaching St. Patrick's Day, expect a leaning toward Irish pub songs, so work on your G and Am chords!

Stan makes one besides me!
I'll have chords for our now-traditional Irish set:
Follow Me Up To Carlow
Star of the County Down
Lannigan's Ball
Any others?

Andy, could you email me the chord sheets for the "traditional Irish set". Given the close proximity to St Patrick's Day, I'd have to say that they are appropriate.
Anyone heard from Annie lately? I believe skiing season is coming to a close.

...But it's finally here in just a couple days!
Yes, I'll prepare chords and lyrics for the song above and maybe Whiskey In The Jar as well, and try to get them to you in advance.
If anyone else has any suggestions, let's have them!
So . . . Lou, Ben, Stan, Jim, Ken and myself. Good size group!
We have room for a few more.
Any one else?
Annie's probably still skiing...we might go again Sunday, too.
And where oh where is SUE!?

hi everybody...looks good for me..tho it is a ways away. hope everyone is feeling better. just wanted to say had a good time at Kens place..even with Oz at our feet. did some playing and discussing and watchin. i like your approach to playing fills and breaks but have not been able to find a loop to practice with yet. i also got myself a new guitar at the brookdale guitar show. that was cool. there were some very nice instruments there. like a candy store. anyway i'm still getting to know my new toy and will see you all..except Oz the 15th...stan
