Jersey Jam 31 -- Happy Father's Day Weekend!
Jersey Jam 31, Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at my house in central NJ.
10am - lunchtime (typically 3 or 4 hours) with our now legendary pizza finale'.
It's NOT a formal open event in a public venue, it's just me inviting some folks to my home, as a way of making new musical friends. We have a small group of regulars and new folks stopping by from time to time. Most of us play guitar, though other acoustic instruments are welcome. We're usually willing to try all styles of popular music, and while still consider ourselves beginners and want the jam to be beginner friendly, we're happy to have more experienced players sit in and inspire us.
This is an informal, beginners-level, casual get-together, hanging around in the basement making music.
And if the weather is nice, maybe we'll move it out to the park.
No pressure, and ABSOLUTELY NO "I'm not good enough" excuses.
You just need an instrument and a song in your heart. And a music stand is helpful.
If you're interested, join the 'Jersey Jam' group here on folkjam.org and let me know!

The 14th works for me. I have a couple of songs to try out. The first is "Trouble" by Coldplay. What I like about it is that it's a piano song so we can arrange it for guitar. Just enough Bm and F chords to keep us on our toes. Another is "Holding up the Sky" by Buddy and Julie Miller. Simple chord changes, but a nice strumming pattern to work with. I'm not sure if this will format correctly. If not, I'll email this to anyone that needs it.

So far the 14th is still OK for me.
Ken, Trouble by Coldplay is a great song. I never even tried it because it seemed written for a piano, more than guitar. It should be fun.
Here is a song I would like to try. It's "San Francisco Bay Blues". It was recorded by many in the past, including Eric Clapton on his unplugged album. The only chord that we normally don't play is a C7, but since you're already on a C, it's an easy transition.
