JJ 57 -- SATURDAY 8/14
Jersey Jam 57! SATURDAY, August, 14 2010, at my house in central NJ.
10am - lunchtime (typically 3 or 4 hours) with our now legendary pizza finale'.
It's NOT a formal open event in a public venue, it's just me inviting some folks to my home, as a way of making new musical friends. We have a small group of regulars and new folks stopping by from time to time. Most of us play guitar, though other acoustic instruments are welcome. We're usually willing to try all styles of popular music, and while we always want the jam to be beginner friendly, we're happy to have more experienced players sit in and inspire us.
This is an informal, casual get-together, hanging around in the basement making music, and we chip in for pizza at the end.
No pressure, and ABSOLUTELY NO "I'm not good enough" excuses.
You just need an instrument and a song in your heart. And a music stand is
helpful.
If you're interested, join the 'Jersey Jam' group here on folkjam.org and let me know!
Regulars, please post your RSVPs and song suggestions on our forum!

Hi all,
I had a great time today! It was fun singing & pickin' with you all. Thanks for your patience with me -- I need to get the rust off my guitar & vocal chords ;-) I'm now typing with very sore fingers - but so glad to get back into music again.
Looking forwad to next month!

It was great having you Liz!
I need to be careful about what I say about your vocals, because if too many people find out how high you've set the bar, we'll never get anyone else to sing.
And I hope Tom comes back with the flute soon, too. Between that and Liz's vocals, we had some real music going there!
I never really realized how much these "non-guitars" really add to the sound.
I guess that's why bands usually have more than one instrument. Go figure!

Andy - thanks for yet another fun jam. And thanks for the kind words regarding Tom's flute playing. Hopefully, he'll be on a school break at some point during the year when a jam is scheduled and will be able to join us again. I couldn't agree more with you that having both the flute and the vocals by Liz definitely added a very tasty touch to the playing today. Liz, it was very nice meeting you today and having the chance to hear you sing and play. I'm looking forward to next month already. Regards to all ...Frank

Hi Andy - I'm planning on being there on Saturday. Tom will probably be there also. Maybe he'll bring his flute again.
Welcome Liz. I'm sure you'll find the jam a lot of fun.

I had all intentions, but my mom was pretty sick for a few weeks. She just got home from the hospital. I had to help her out, do some work around her house, run some errands, stuff like that. Hopefully you can schedule another Saturday next month.
