November Circle was a good time!

The November meeting was fun, and took a little different tack, with more songs being sung than most times.

There were 8 banjo-players (2 with guitars, 1 with a concertina) and 1 guitar. Big Jim Griffith came and added his fantastic banjo & voice to the joyous music.

As there were an abundance of banjos, John and I picked up our guitars, and I also added my somewhat lacking fiddle to a couple of tunes.

Twenty eight (28) tracks made it to the music section here, and are the first 28 there. The album is: TOTMC November 2007.

Also, be sure to check out our new Website, www.totmc.org . I was able to get a free hosting account through Bravenet, and hope to develop the site as we go on, so if you have suggestions or ideas, please let me know.

Keeping that 'next session' date current

Brad,

One idea I'll toss out. When you get bored of updating the 'next session date' by hand each month on the totmc.org web site you can actually drive that date, on your site, from your posting on folkjam.org. You can read the basics of how on folkjam.org/help/rss , and I'll certainly help you with the details if this is something you want to do. The gist of it is that you drop a block of JavaScript code into your site that calls out to folkjam to retrieve the next upcoming session date.

Nice looking page

That's a good looking page you have, Brad. One of the members of our newish jam was visiting Nashville, and stopped in at the Pegram, TN jam. Their website is at www.pegramjam.com, and it's also quite good.

I've used the javascript code that Scot mentions, and it works great. In my case I'm using it for the "other events of interest" sort of page for the folklore society site that I manage.
