Just a few days to go!

Who's coming on the 24th? I just picked up an autographed Peter Yarrow folk song book at Toys R Us so I'll probably pick a few thing from there. Any other song suggestions? ApK Submitted by ApK on Wed, 2009/01/21 - 10:22pm.

Yes, I'll be there... First-Timer!! With my wife & some song suggestions (have lots of copies, of the songs!). And maybe even with her autoharp.
(Andy: Gonna leave the Rick 12-string at home for now, as it desperately needs strings and a set-up. As I received it, several of the octaves had been replaced with .008's - way too light. Was considering various replacements and sort of hit "analysis paralysis" when I did my shoulder last year, so had no great need to get them changed. Finally know which ones I want to put on and have the dexterity to do it. Yahoo! Regardless of the interlocking tuners, a challenge on their own, the closed-back slots are a real pain! Lots of time, work space, and TINY needle-nosed pliers required).
Hmmm, there's an equally-interesting 12-string around here...
See y'all Saturday!

Nice meeting Ed and his wife and thanks again to Frank's wife for the brownies...they didn't last the night....
Please folks, let me know any good or bad days in February for you all.
I've also decided to let go of one little hobgoblin of consistency:
If a Sunday is better for people, please let me know and we'll do JJ39 on Sunday!
Luke, Jay, Lou, Wayne, Patrick, et al, hope we see you soon!

Hi. I'm disappointed that I have missed the last few sessions. Unavoidable conflicts. Hope to make February. Take care.

Hope you can make it back soon Wayne...the song books have been a big hit, and I know a few more people were wanting to thank you.
Plus, I still have your orange bag.
Stan, would a Sunday be better for you this month?
I'm thinking maybe Sunday Feb 8th?

>>so what happened? did the day change?<<
We're discussing that now. I know a couple people have said Sunday would be preferable. How do you feel about it?
If a few people get back to me on the matter with preferences, I will call a date quickly. February is a short month, you know!

sunday or saturday are both good with me, it's just that i have class on saturday at 12:30 and she cannot change the time. so i feel whatever is good for the rest of the group is good with me. i think everyone is comfortable with saturdays and it might be better to keep it that way. you know what Mr Spock says, "The good of the many out weighs the good of the few, so get out of here and get me someme some Mountain Dew!".

(Now that I'm back near a computer...)
THANK YOU ALL! Saturday was truly a fun time. Thanks especially to Andy for organizing and to his family for tolerating!
Ann was a bit worried that she'd be out of place, but the easy demenor and general laid-backedness had her feeling right at home. Thanks! (Then again, I've nerver seen her actually feel out of place anywhere!)
Yeah well... I got home and whipped out Shebeg & Shemore with my eyes closed. Maybe that's the secret? And maybe a little stage fright is a good thing! Gotta play it along with U-Tube. There are a bunch of renditions there, the best (arguably) being a highly augmented / ornamanted one on harp.
Looking forward to more. Any given Sunday or Saturday; probably makes little difference.
Sunday Feb 8th. might be okay. Only reservation is that at 4PM is the Darrol Anger concert in Livingston. I'll try to attach links below. (If the weather is moderate, it would be good to de-tune and well-insulate any instruents left in cars. If it's below freezing, I'd want to stop at home first. Guess that's not an issue for Andy!).
Thanks again!

I THINK it was last night, Wednesday 1/28... One of the new TV cop shows that I hadn't been paying much attention to, maybe The 11th Hour, had as background music a rock version of Whiskey In The Jar. Distorted electric guitar, but not really heavy metal or there'd be more screaming and less droning. Anyone have an idea who it was? I'm assuming an Irish group, but it sounded nothing like U2. Any ideas?
