New member Ed here, and looking forward to playing! My experience is sort of erratic; decent at some stuff, limited at others, so I really appreciate that "NO I'm not good enough" tagline.

My poor guitars have been lonely since an accident last winter, but my now-titanium upper arm fits nicely around the mandolin so we've spent lots of time together!

I really hope to see you on the 22nd, but may still be in daily PT by then. A way-more-minor operation next week should restore my guitarability, so any additional delay in actually playing will be well worth the frustration.

3 years... Hey, that's pretty neat!!

Welcome Ed

Sorry to hear about your injury, but sounds like you're loving your mandolin! The 22nd will only be my 3rd time attending the jam, but the folks are really great and welcome new members with open arms. I've had a mandolin for many years but never dedicated any real time to learn it. I'm hoping to get some practice time in before the 22nd and maybe bring it along and give it a try at the jam. Looking forward to meeting you and good luck with the PT, it does work. I know. I've been there.

...Frank

J.J. 36, Saturday 11/22

Sorry folks, but I won't be able to make Saturday's session.

The follow-up shoulder operation went well and the continual rehab is coming along nicely. Playing on mando would be for sure, possibly some guitar. But my mom on Long Island is having house problems, and my brothers & I have declared this a work weekend to fix a bunch of water damage. (No heavy hammering for me, thanks!)

Next month around the same time we'll be at my wife's family in Florida, so hopefully January will work out.

Have a Happy 3rd Birthday!
