Adding and Deleting Group Files
|
I have just been trying to update the tune list for the TOTMC group. I cannot find a way to delete an existing file in order to replace it with a more current file. I uploaded the new file, but it is not named as I would like it, and the old (outdated) file still exists at the first file in the list. There needs to be a way to overwrite an existing file or to delete it so it can be replaced. Brad Submitted by Banjo_Brad on Sat, 2007/07/21 - 8:28pm

Brad,
The feature is there, perhaps hidden too well. :)
If you look to the right of name of the file you want to delete you will see the date you uploaded it, then the size of the file, then a little red arrow with an X in it. Click that icon and you will be prompted to confirm whether or not you actually wanted to delete the file.

Thanks, that is what I needed. I figure I'll post the reply here, even though we worked it out via email.

Brad,
I've changed the delete icon from a little red banner with a somewhat hidden 'x' in it to be slightly larger with "DEL" written in it. Take a look when you have a chance and let me know if that's a little better.

Scott-
That will work, I think it makes it a little clearer. Thanks.
Is there a way I can change the position of the files on the list? Do they sort out by date or alpha-numeric? It would be nice to be able to place a given file on top, especially if it changes fairly regularly, i.e. tune lists.

EDIT: ACHHH! This was supposed to be a reply, not a new post to the topic.

Brad,
The files are listed alpha order by name. Have you considered using directories to organize the file structure so that the most important files are at the top level, and your less frequently used files are in subdirectories?
Thank you for prompting this change. I too think it is an improvement.
