Welcome! and intro

This will be interesting. I've had a good bit of experience with focused online groups like this, and found that they tend to not work real well, mostly because they add yet another place to go to, and therefore tend to be forgotten. That's why I suggested enabling the email notification, unless you are likely to be checking this often enough (whatever that might be).

Anyway.

I'm Erich Schroeder and I primarily play clawhammer banjo and have been playing for a little over 30 years, although with a 12-15 year hiatus where I didn't play often, during which I didn't lose much, but learned nothing.

I'm also a 20-year-but-still-very-novice fiddler. I just don't do it enough to get to the point where it is fun enough that I do it enough, if that makes sense. Sandy and I attend a jam session at U of I--Springfield which includes a slow jam portion, but we wanted to get together some where to play with less public view and to help prepare for having more fun in public.
