Picking on the Patio...Homer's Coffee House in Overland Park

is one of O.P.'s greatest secrets. That is what my wife said after we attended on Monday. It runs only during the summer. A mixture of poetry, gospel, 60's and ?????. The music depends on who shows up.

What a blessing it is to have in the area.

Oh yes, the coffee is great too.

Side note....got almost all the way home and noticed I left "Nigel", the puppet that rocks and talks at the coffee house. The barristers(or is that lawyers) had him safely secured when Annie and I returned.

Reminded me of the scene in the movie Arizona, when the baby in the car seat was left on top of the car...

Could you provide a bit more information. Is every Monday afternoon or evening? What times? How many typically show up? Directions? This sounds like there might be some fun involved.

Picking on the patio

About 7:30 to 9:10 ish...Mondays during the summer.

Different musicians (and a 3 piece house band) are their weekly.

Last night perhaps 12 musicians, singers..with instruments ranging from harmonica and uke(that was me) to banjo, bass, guitars.

Songs ranged from the Theme of Gilligan's Island (me again) to Going to Kansas City (which rocked the patio)...to Elvira...to Leaving on a Jet Plane...to Bisquits....Country to folk to rock to the blues...depending on the person picking the song...

Some weeks someone reads a poem.
