Introducing Groups

We silently rolled out a new feature at the start of March - groups.

Groups on folkjam.org have a few unique characteristics. To start, we've designed and built them specifically for the purpose of coordinating or starting jam sessions. How?

Location is everything, which is why we allow you to associate a group with a city on our public maps. People near you will see your group.

Private maps for private jams exist within each group. Unlike our public maps of events, the map within your group can only be seen by group members.

Each group also has a forum where you can post tune lists, announcements and chat with other members of the group.

We have several more features in the works for groups that will appear on the site in the coming months. What we have in place today is a great start, please give it a try.
