We have just rolled out a feature which should help to match events with visitors in areas outside of our 'address to map' translation coverage. We currently have limited ability to directly translate address locations outside of the United States, which we very much hope to resolve more comprehensively in the near future.

As a temporary relief for this shortcoming and as a long term strategy to handle coverage lapses in the future, we now provide the option to choose your event location from a map if the address look-up fails. We still need to collect address information for the event and hope to increase coverage in the future, so the map option will only appear once you have submitted your record and a map location couldn't be automatically translated.

If your event is occurring outside of our coverage area (which is presently the same as Google's coverage), then go ahead and fill in the event form normally. If the look-up fails, the error message returned will have links to either try the address again, or use the map. To select a location on the map simply use your mouse to click and drag the map to the proper location. A click on the map will automatically zoom it, and the controls in the top left corner of the map can also be used to manipulate your view. If you happen to have the exact latitude and longitude for your event handy, you can just put those directly into the input boxes below the map. :)

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we try to increase the utility of our maps and location features for all of our users throughout the world.

As always please let us know if there is anything we can do to make the site better for our community.

Thanks.
