Our public forums are not exceedingly active. The action lives inside the many private groups that live on the forum, and even more so in people looking for other musicians. Being a forum site is not our goal - there are many solid forums out there.
We are working on a new feature to help folks find other local musicians. If you have turned on the "jam map" inclusion in your profile, then you will shortly be on the local maps showing that you are interested in finding other musicians to play with.
Unlike forum posts, where your message slides away over the course of a few days, you will always be on the map at folkjam where local visitors can see you whether they visit a week after you put yourself on the map or a year.
