Bain Ennis and his band Lonestar Highway will be making a rare appearance in North Texas at the Lakewood Bar and Grill in Dallas on Friday night, APRIL 3rd, 2009. Bain Ennis has made a name for himself over the years as an ambassador of original North Texas Music, picking and singing his unique brand of tunes across the globe, from Kerrville campfires and honkytonks all over Texas to D.C., Boston, Brussels, Bucharest, Osaka, Tbilisi, and beyond. A founding member of Sherman’s legendary Tone Deaf Cowboys, he later went on to form the Gypsy Troubadours with Ft. Worth’s Ed Rogers, Matthew Williams (Blarney Brothers, Chuck Rainey Trio, Soul Kitchen), Rodger Harrison (Blarney Brothers, Free Whiskey) and Patrick Brooks. Ennis’s songs were at the core of the success of these bands, and were key to sparking the “Y’all-ternative” movement in the North Texas music scene. Ennis now lives in the Boston area and recently slowed down long enough to record his debut solo CD “Rough Cuts of Basics.” The project has already received much praise for its sublime quality and cross-genre appeal. Bain will be playing with his Boston based band Lonestar Highway, featuring Richard Morehouse on bass, Matthew Williams on drums, and rising superstar Etienne Cremieux on fiddle and mandolin.
