Old Time Rural Music Gathering
Started 30 years ago by the Arnold Family in Fremont, Nebraska, the Arnolds have since passed away. Bob & Sheila Everhart have continued this fine festival that features old-time country/bluegrass/folk music in a concert setting at the huge Christensen Field House in Fremont, Nebraska. Performers are booked in advance for this one-main-stage event. There are side rooms for workshops, contests, and jamming. Food is old-time country with stuffed pork chops on Friday; prime rib on Saturday; and baked ham on Sunday. Arts and crafts are welcome, lawn chair seating is permitted. RV camping facilites with electric hook-ups are available. Rural Roots Music Commission give annual awards for CD's of the year dealing with this genre of music. Special performers usually include celebrities. Check our website at http://www.ntcma.net for updates.
