3rd Annual Old Time Fiddle Contest
Sunday, September 18, 2011 Noon
at the
11th Annual Falmouth Rotary Flea Market, Craft Fair and Antique Extravaganza
Falmouth Harbor Band Shell
Marine Park, Scranton Av (opposite Queen St)
Falmouth, Massachusetts
Saturday and Sunday, September 17 & 18, 2011 8am-4pm
$2 admission (under age 12 free)* and free parking
*probably free for all fiddle contestants

Falmouth Rotary Club Old Time Fiddle Contest Information

Divisions:
Junior Division - 15 and under
Open Division - 16 and up
Fiddlers can register for only one of the preceding divisions.
Space is limited so register early to ensure entry.

Tunes:
Each contestant must play two old time tunes of their choice.
There is a 5 minute time limit for each contestant.

Judging:
Judges will be looking for the best traditional old time fiddle player.

Styles could include New England Dance, Down East, Canadian,
Southern U.S., British Isles, etc.

Additional Rules:
Fiddlers may play alone or with a rhythm accompanist.
No electric or amplified instruments allowed.
Fiddlers must play lead melody at all times.
In case of a tie, there will be a one-tune playoff.
All prizes will be awarded at the end of the contest.

Prizes for both divisions will be awarded at the end of the contest.
1st = $75, 2nd = $50, 3rd = $25
