2008 Concert Series
The first concert of the 2008 Second Saturday Music Series held in Twin Springs Park, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, will be May 10th featuring western swing music of "Call of the West" www.callothewest.net. This duo has been performing together since 1989 recreating the spirit of the Old West thru western tunes, country standards and cowboy poetry. Jerome Campbell was the 2006 Merle Travis National Thumb picking Champion and Jeanne Cahill was nominated for the 2006 and 2007 Western Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year. Dust off your hats and boots and prepare to be entertained by Call of the West.
June 14th performers will be "Loose Change" featuring old time, Celtic and folk music. "Mulligan Stew" will perform July 12th playing traditional music from Ireland, the British Isles and North America. The series will finish August 9th with music by "Greenwillis", a group of young
musicians who perform their own music along with old time, traditional tunes.
All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. at Twin Springs Park Gazebo, behind the hospital on Maxwell street. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, admission is free and donations are appreciated.
